What is the course about: GEL will teach you how to plan and teach safe and effective group exercise sessions and have an understanding of the principals of training. You will learn how to adapt exercises to suit varied fitness levels and how to use a range of teaching skills. You will also gain an understanding of the body's systems and its responses to exercise. How long does it last: 4 days lectures (3 Theory & Practical, 1 Testing & Evaluation) Who is the course suitable for: Anyone wishing to teach group exercise classes or instructors wishing to teach Les Mills programs (BodyPump, RPM, BodyCombat, BodyBalance, BodyAttack, BodyJam, BodyStep or BodyVive). The qualification can also be used as an en route qualification to becoming a personal trainer. What Qualifications are needed: No prior knowledge is necessary What will be studied:
With the ETM sections you will learn how to work to the beat and phrase of the music, plan and teach classes using the principals of choreography, provide safe and effective exercises in a motivating class, learn communication skills and understand human behavior and learning styles. How Is It Assessed:
- Multiple choice theory exam paper
- Practical class assessment
Are there any books or special equipment that the student needs to purchase: All course materials will be provided. What can the qualification lead to: Work as a group exercise instructor , Les Mills Instructor or a step towards becoming a personal trainer. PLUS! Upon successful completion of GEL the first Les Mills Module will be only 1300 aed (Any Program)
